METEOR CAMDEN CRAWL DUBLIN ANNOUNCES HOMEGROWN ACTS FOR MAY 2013!
METEOR CAMDEN CRAWL DUBLIN ANNOUNCES HOMEGROWN ACTS FOR MAY 2013!
After months of careful deliberation, the line up for this spring’s Meteor Camden Crawl Dublin is almost fit to explode with a dynamite selection of acts that we just can’t keep the news to ourselves any longer!
Over 150 smashing acts, both Irish and International are gearing up to plug in and blow you away over three days of beautiful musical mayhem in Dublin town this May Bank Holiday weekend (3rd to 5th of May). But, because our mother’s taught us not to give it all up too easy, we are going to get your party pulses racing on the eve of the Meteor Choice Music Prize with the announcement of some this year’s homegrown acts confirmed to play the 2013 festival. The indigenous line-up is brimming with new faces and a couple of old friends to get your chins wagging and your feet tapping.
So without any further frills and ado, we are delighted to announce this year’s Meteor Choice Music Prize nominees windings will appear on the bill alongside previous nominees Fight Like Apes and We Cut Corners. You will also be able to feast your ears on return performances from the likes of neo-grungers Girl Band, electric contemporary violinist Daithi, ambient beat impressario Lemonada, the alien pop of Nanu Nanu and Bantum’s southern fried electro. Indie purveyors Swords, The Notas, and Berlin based Kool Thing return to the stage following a highlight gig in last year’s free fringe festival, while other favorites Sleep Thieves, Squarehead, Kid Karate, The Holy Roman Army, Low Sea, O Emperor, Bouts, Skelocrats and White Collar Boy prepare to raise the roof at their Crawl debuts. Expect prodigious alt-folk from Owensie & Mossy Nolan, lush atmospherics from Cloud Castle Lake and psychedelic folk-rock from The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock whilst The Casanova Wave, Ships, Dogs, Forrests and Orquesta mesmerize us with their electronic innovations. Guitarist and composer Cian Nugentwill feature in the mix of talent along with singer-song writer Orla Gartland and multi instrumentalists Inni-K and Peter Delaney. And if that wasn’t enough Cork’s Unwinding Cables will get us on our feet with their brand of afro-punk pop and dancing alongside electro popsters Faune and Miracle Bell. To top off the Meteor Camden Crawl Dublin Le Galaxie will take a breather from their recording studio to appear for a special DJ set to close the festival in addition to a handful of homegrown secret special guests set to surprise us over the weekend.
The event will take place across more than 15 of Dublin’s finest venues from Camden Street to Temple Bar. Each of these venues will be curated by some of the top innovators in the Irish Music Industry from DJ’s to independent promoters to media moguls such as Whelan’s Live, Hidden Agenda, Strange Brew, Young Hearts Run Free, State Magazine, Mother Club, Ruby Sessions, Dan Hegarty (2fm), entertainment.ie, Sweet Oblivion, Nialler9, Totally Dublin, Paul McLoone (Today FM) and Claire Beck (Phantom FM) to mention but a few.
