‘Hear My Prayer’
Out 22nd August
When multi-award winning writer and producer, Andy Hill, whose credits include Celine Dion, Cher, Diana Ross, Michael Ball, Katherine Jenkins and Westlife, describes someone as “the best singer I have worked with in a long while, who combines a naturally beautiful voice with great feel, sensitivity and knowledge of music” the world takes notice.
Aisling was born and brought up in the small rural village of Ballycanew in County Wexford. Surrounded by rustic countryside and close to the beach it has inspired her writing and is still the place she goes to relax and be with her family. Music has been a constant part of her life and background, whether it was listening to pop, rock and classical records on the radio during the 1990’s, her father playing the button accordion at family get-togethers or listening to her sister Deirdre sing as one of The Irish Sopranos and her work embraces the many styles that she’s absorbed.
‘Hear My Prayer’ is the first single from Aisling’s debut album ‘Hold My Dream’ which was recorded and produced by Andy Hill at his Suffolk studio in 2013. ‘Hear My Prayer’ is a song about life’s uncertainties and is a cry for guidance in this unpredictable hazy world.
“I wrote this song when I personally was feeling unsure, wondering what I should do with my life, worried about money, life, my family and wanted to put that into words. But as I started writing the lyrics, it became less about my own worries and stresses and more about how everyone goes through bad or worrying times but try to hide it behind closed doors. That no one ever really knows the answers and so they look for someone or something to guide them. In my case and in my song it’s a prayer for guidance in a world which seems to have a lot of confusion, fear and uncertainty and looking for a ‘cure’”.
‘Hold My Dream’ is the debut album from Aisling also set for release on the 22nd August.
